Horrible day
Being on crutches is turning into a nightmare, and not helping my day at
all. The fact that I can’t play volleyball is the least of my troubles
it seems.
First, I am taking a really late lunch because this impossible customer
is having trouble setting up his email in outlook, then the POS broke on
a day when I need it. So I finally take my lunch only to realize that I
have forgotten it at home. I have no money, so even if I could go get
something to eat I can’t!
Fortunately we have this fundraiser galla to go to tonight, so I won’t
be hungry, but I also won’t eat for another few hours! It’s 3:30 and
all I have had today was a coffee!
I just want to get better, and be able to walk again. But if the
swelling in my foot doesn’t go down, I’ll never heal.

Allerca
The Hypo-Allergenic Cat for $3500.
I miss my Bailey (who I only paid $10 for - and that was just a kind gesture to a friend). I miss her a lot. I still feel her every night jump on my bed. She loved me, and wanted to do everything I did. So when I went to bed at night, she would wait, and follow right behind. Then she would go on “her side of the bed” (that’s right - she had her own side, and own pillow), and plop her head down just like me, and stare with so much admiration and love. She would get into fetal position on her side just like me, and tuck her paws under her head just like me. If I was late going to bed, she would let me know. She would try to get my attention doing anything she could, and all she wanted was to go to bed. The funniest was when she ran out of my bedroom wearing a pair of my underwear. How she got her body into the leg of my underwear I don’t know….THE funniest thing I EVER saw. She ran out as if, “look at me! Look what I did!”.
So what I miss about her most is bed time I think. We both had our routines, and it was our time. I would wash my face and brush my teeth, she would poop. My cat had a 10:30 poop schedule. What I don’t miss is the box of Kleenex’s I went though a week, watery eyes and asthma. So if I could have my Bailey back, and not be allergic to her, it would be a wonderful world and I would be happy again.

Have I been replaced?
I went to volleyball tonight. Afterall, I am part of the team. I should be there to cheer them on, even if I can’t play
. We have a new girl this year. A friend of another girl on my team. Dammit she’s good. We have 3 guys, and 4 girls on my team. I guess ’cause one of the girl’s b-friends is working out of town until February, and won’t be able to make games until then. But still. I feel like as ass sitting her on the bench while the new girl warms her way into everyones hearts. I shouldn’t feel bad though. She’s really nice, and it only makes for a stronger team.
As for physio tonight, they were happy with the progress. The swelling has come down quite a bit, but they still put another open gibney on after the ultra sound and massage. Kinda nice having some cute guy slave over you! They want to see me again Wednesday. This is costing a fortune! But you know, it’s worth it. Whatever it takes to get me back on the court! Alright, I’ll settle for just walking again for now.
So irritating
This foot thing is really getting on my nerves. I want this “half cast” wrap off! Thank God I am going to physio tonight, so they can re-bandage me, but I am also not looking forward to it. They said they are going to “force the swelling out” with massage, and it’s going to hurt. Thanks for the warning. I just want to walk again.
I got a call from this guy I play v-ball with last night. He asked me if I wanted to play in this other league with them. A really good league, which I was honoured that he asked me, because it’s really good volleyball; really competitive. But alas, I have these stupid crutches, and had to decline. Dammit! I hope I havn’t lost the opportunity.
Foot Injury: Day 13

Day 13: October 20th - 1st day of Physiotherapy. My foot looks like it was run over by a car. They worked the foot with all the “assessments” (range of motion (very little), strength), and really got the blood flowing. I am in so much pain right now, but it will get better, and I should be back at volleyball in 12 weeks. Third degree sprain (torn ligaments and tendons). Not supposed to put weight on it; not like I can anyways. No more bathing, not without a garbage bag on my leg, and anyone that’s done that before, knows it doesn’t really work.
