Suzuki Gear Shift 5-speedThe first time I ever drove a car I was 5. My parents, so proud of my maturity and confidence, taught me how to start the car. I was observant, and took it from there.

One day, I loaded up my younger brothers in the backseat, and with my earnest to always please, I was going to make my parents, “oh so proud”. I got in, started up the car (which involved using the gas, as the car was NOT fuel injected), and pulled down on the gear shift. My parents had just bought the car, and were excited that it was an automatic. The previous “family” car was a 69 Mustang that was no longer fitting our growing family needs. So knowing that this was an automatic car, I assumed it knew where to go!

Wrong. I found myself backing up and not turning. I desperately tried to remove the key from the ignition, since if that’s how it started, that must be how it stops.

I never got in trouble. I think my parents blamed themselves.

Just for fun, I’ve started signing all my Credit Card purchase receipts as “Monica Gellar”.

No one’s noticed, in fact most cashiers tend to give me back my credit card before the purchase is even approved!

I’ll post a scan, when I get a copy. Most receipts now don’t print on carbon paper, but duplicate copies are printed; the cashier keeps the signed copy.

If someone ever should catch on (hasn’t happened yet!), I’ll just give tell them I appreciate them checking, and it’s about f-ing time!

I’ve been actively using WordPress for nearly 2 weeks now (since my import from Blogger), and today is my first time upgrading with this security update released today. Wish me luck *crosses fingers*.

Edit: Omg I did it. 1.5.1.3!

Grandma and her strawberriesIt’s so mother f-in hot out, I can barely stand it. Grandma (featured in the picture) asked me to go strawberry picking again today, and it must have been the hottest day yet. So uncomfortable, sweat is just pouring off me, and I got some sort of rash all over my arms from either the strawberry plants, or the weeds that have grown up amongst them. I also just noticed that me - the person that refuses to wear sunblock - got burnt. With my fair skin, it surprisingly takes a lot for me to get any sun. Even with playing beach volleyball, I tend to take a long time to show a tan.

I’m so happy to be home now, back in my AC :) .

We took a trip to TigerDirect last weekend. I bought a couple geeky things, as well as a UPS. I figure with the threat of power outages (Daily lightening storms, Hydro Strike?) and rolling brown-outs, it would be a good idea.

My power went out 1/2 hour ago (for 15 minutes). Everything went dead. My UPS didn’t work. Didn’t even beep to let me know it knew it was supposed to. F*ching piece of sh#t! I’m pissed.

My brother called me Thursday night with the worst news. His sister-in-law-to-be died. She was only 33. She had an asthma attack, and died @ the hospital.

I met her only once. At my brother’s house-warming party in May. She had 5 kids. The oldest 14 from a previous marriage; the youngest child was less than a year old.

The funeral is today.

My brother asked me, “is it appropriate to replace someone in your wedding party if they die?”.

My cousin asked me tonight:

“um….what is a good time, average, to tell a guy/girl you love them?”

It’s his first girlfriend, so you can’t blame the kid. He may be 21, but he’s more like an out-of-school 15-year-old.

I mentioned that I had cramps to my bf. I said it should only be my period, because I’m due; but what if I’m pregnant, because I am late.

He shocked me by turning around showing me his fingers crossed.

I made jam for the first time. I think it may be my last. Who would have known that the amount of sugar used, is double the amount of fruit used.

I have too many email addresses, username/password combinations, that I am starting to loose track.

I haven’t had sex in over a week. My bf now thinks this is normal.

We grew up on a farm. Hide and seek was a very common game. I would lure my brother out as far from the house as I could. Then sneak back and watch TV. Mom would ask where my brother was, I was always honest and said, “looking for me”. I always got in shit.

I’m the eldest of 3. 2 brothers. Growing up I used this to my advantage. I used to make my brothers sit on either side of the chair and brush my hair.

…it’s a boy! My brother’s having a baby boy!

My dad will be so happy. He came from a family of 8. Of the 22 Grandchildren, there were only 3 potential boys to carry on the name. My cousin had 4 girls. So my family’s last name lay in the hands of my 2 brothers.

Brother 1 (the youngest) had a girl. There’s talk of having another, but they’re waiting until after the wedding.

Brother # 2 got married in February, and had a honeymoon conception. So she is only about 4 months into her pregnancy.

The baby is going to be so cute. My brother’s Canadian white, and her latina light brown.

Raffi Banana PhoneIf you’re feeling a bit down today, play this tune a couple times. You can’t help but bop your head around and smile!

(Warning: Putting this song on repeat, may cause you to go insane. Singing or humming may encourage the song to remain in your heard the entire day. I am not to be held responsible.)
