Pregnancy TestThursday I learned that I am going to be Aunt x2! Middle brother is having a baby! He got married 5 weeks ago, and guess what? She’s 5 weeks pregnant! Only my brother, who has saved himself all these years, could have this happen to him. The first time he has sex he reproduces! Same goes for her too though. He wanted a family, and sure didn’t waste any time starting. Well, that how God made it. 2 virgins. How beautiful is that?

To this story I should add, she’s from Ecuador, and we have never met her. My brother has been spending thousands of dollars flying back and forth for 6 years now. She can’t get a VISA (Or whatever she needs) to come even visit Canada. My brother has tried for so long. They say because she hasn’t travelled enough, she is a flight risk. They don’t think the she has enough reason to return. Um…she’s in university…and her family (who are well off and aren’t poverty or anything), isn’t that enough? So back and forth he goes, and last time he married her! We knew it was coming. He went down in the fall and proposed (First flew to Galapagos to ask her parents. She lives on the main land with her Grandma for school.). Then he went down (for 2 days!) @ Christmas. He was granted 1 week vacation from work, and thought this would be his last time in a year, so he took the opportunity.

I guess in Ecuador, they view the “Civil Ceremony” as legal. The Church ceremony is separate. We just incorporate the 2. The thing is, she can’t get here, so this was the only way to make it happen. I don’t think he was planning on leaving behind a little seed, but that’s the way things worked! So the way his story goes is: House –> Married –> Baby –> Live.

He’s leaving in 2 weeks to bring her up here. He’ll stay there for as long as it takes.

Wedding BellsOne day later, I learn that youngest brother (I only have 2), is getting married! Now he already has a child, and was living with my sister-in-law to be. They just bought a house the end of January, and I guess are settled enough to start planning a wedding.

He called me this morning and asked if I could be in the wedding party. I acted surprised, because apparently dad wasn’t supposed to tell me he was getting married. Dad didn’t know it was a secret. Since I didn’t know it was a secret and that dad wasn’t supposed to say anything, I told mom. When my brother told me, he asked me not to say anything to mom because he wanted to tell her. SHIT! Too late. Mom already told my other brother too. Geez. Family of big-mouths; but we were all so happy!

My dad only told me because he was so excited that they would no longer be living in sin. As dad often says, he did do things “backwards”. Baby –> live –> house –> married. Well, those were the cards my brother was dealt, and he made the best of it. I think he’s done a great job, and has a beautiful daughter to show for it.

I got so excited on the phone with my dad when I heard the news (and he has just learned that he was to be Grandpa x2), that I told him that I too was getting married. Wouldn’t that be something! All his kids married in the same year. He said, “you are?!?!” “Sure!” I said. “October 14th”. My bf turned around when he heard me say this. I giggled. “Oh honey I didn’t tell you?”. Turns out October 14th is a Friday…and Friday’s are cheaper…and it is fall…and I do want a fall wedding…and if I don’t get married this year…then I won’t be married before I’m 30. I already missed the cut off for having a child before 30. That was 2 weeks ago that I should have been pregnant, and well…I totally am not.

So, 2 weddings for 2005 and counting! Middle brother will have a ceremony etc. here in Canada ASAP, and youngest brother end of August.
